Searching your notes

Search in Caliu looks through the full text of your notes, not just titles. And because your notes live on your device, search works instantly and fully offline. No connection required.

Where to search

  • In the web app: open the command palette with Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K) and start typing. Matching notes, tags, and commands appear as you type.
  • On iPhone, iPad, and Mac: use the search field in the note list. Results update as you type.
  • Inside a note: the web app also has find-in-note on Cmd+F (or Ctrl+F) to jump to a word in the open note.

Searching by tag

The fastest way to browse by tag is the sidebar: click any tag to filter the list to notes that carry it, including notes tagged with anything nested underneath it. In the web app's command palette, tags show up as results too, so you can jump to a tag view from the keyboard.

What search skips

Trashed and archived notes stay out of your results, so old material never buries current work. To find them, open the Trash or Archive view in the sidebar.
