Images
Paste an image from the clipboard or drag one into the editor. It appears instantly and uploads in the background, so this works even offline: the image shows right away from your device, and the upload finishes when you are back online. You can also insert images from the toolbar, and on iPhone and iPad, straight from the camera or photo library.
Other files
Any other file (a PDF, a spreadsheet, an audio clip) can be attached from the toolbar's attach option, or by dragging it in. Instead of rendering inline, it appears as a file chip showing the name and an icon, with a download action a tap away.
The limit is 50 MB per file.
They sync everywhere
Attachments are uploaded to your account, so a photo added on your phone opens on your Mac and in the web app too. Under the hood, notes only store a link to the attachment, which keeps them portable: exports, shared notes, and API access all keep working.
If a note with attachments is shared publicly, its images and files are visible to people opening the share link. Attachments in private notes stay private.
