Highlights

Sometimes bold is not enough. Highlights let you sweep a marker over the words that matter:

This is ==important== to remember.

Wrap text in double equals signs and it renders with a yellow highlight, just like a marker on paper.

Colored highlights

Add a color name before the text, separated by a colon:

==green:done== ==blue:idea== ==pink:review== ==purple:question==

Five colors are available: yellow (the default), green, blue, pink, and purple. Each one adapts to your theme, so highlights look right in both light and dark mode.

From the toolbar

Select some text and use the highlighter button in the editor toolbar to apply a highlight and pick its color, no syntax required.

It is still just markdown

The ==text== syntax is stored as plain text inside your note, so highlights sync to every device, show up in shared notes, and survive export. If you ever move your notes elsewhere, the marks travel with them.
