Deleting a note in Caliu is a soft delete: the note moves to the Trash view in your sidebar, where it waits in case you change your mind.
How the Trash works
- Trashed notes are hidden from every view, tag list, and search. They appear only in Trash.
- Deleting a note removes it from its tags, so tags no other notes use can clean themselves up.
- Notes are removed permanently 30 days after you delete them. Until then, nothing is lost.
- Deleting an archived note moves it to the Trash too, out of the Archive.
Restoring a note
Open the Trash and restore any note from its row. It returns to your active notes. A note that was archived when you deleted it also comes back as an active note, not an archived one.
Deleting for good
If you do not want to wait 30 days:
- Delete permanently removes a single note from the Trash immediately.
- Empty Trash clears everything at once.
Both are final. There is no way to recover a permanently deleted note, so when in doubt, let the 30-day timer do its job.
