Choosing a format
- Markdown is the native format: what you wrote, exactly, portable forever.
- Plain Text strips the formatting for the plainest possible copy.
- HTML produces a styled, self-contained page with images included.
- RTF opens in word processors like Word and Pages, formatting intact.
- PDF gives you a print-ready document, rendered from the HTML export.
Free formats and Caliu Pro
Markdown and Plain Text export are always free, on every platform.
HTML, RTF, and PDF export are part of Caliu Pro, and so is bulk export (exporting many notes at once as a ZIP). Gated formats show a Pro badge in the export menu, and choosing one opens the upgrade screen if you're not subscribed.
