Notification troubleshooting

Reminder notifications are delivered per device, so each device needs permission once. Here's what to check.

In the web app

The browser asks for notification permission the first time you create a reminder. If you declined it, the browser won't ask again: re-enable notifications for Caliu in your browser's site settings, then edit any reminder to re-register the device.

On iPhone, iPad, and Mac

Permission is requested when you first create a reminder. If notifications aren't arriving:

  • Check the system settings: make sure notifications are allowed for Caliu.
  • In Caliu's own settings, check the Enable reminders toggle. It's on by default, and it's per device, so turning it off on your Mac doesn't silence your iPhone.

The iPhone and iPad app and the Mac app also have a Default reminder time setting (8:00 PM by default). New reminders are preset to that time, so adjust it if your reminders keep suggesting the wrong hour.

Still nothing?

  • Make sure the device is signed in and has synced recently: reminders travel with their notes.
  • Check the note's reminder list: a snoozed reminder waits until its snooze ends, and a dismissed one won't fire again.
