Every note keeps score, quietly. Open the statistics panel to see how a note is shaping up.
What you get
- Words: the total word count of the note.
- Characters: counted both with and without spaces.
- Read time: an estimate of how long the note takes to read.
- Tags: how many tags the note carries.
- Links and backlinks: connections to and from other notes.
- Created and modified: when the note was born and when it last changed.
Counts update live as you write, so you can keep the panel open while chasing a word limit.
Where to find it
- In the web app, open Note info from the note's toolbar menu, or run "Note info" from the command palette (
Cmd/Ctrl+K). - On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, open the statistics view from the note's menu in the editor. On the Mac it appears as a compact popover; on iPhone it is a sheet.
No configuration, no tracking, just numbers about your own writing, computed on your device.
